The Mountain Equipment Compressor Vest is an ideal way to deal with cold conditions for the minimum weight penalty. In dry conditions a down vest would be even better, but the Compressor Vest uses high quality synthetic insulation so that it is able to deal effectively with typical UK wet conditions.

Even if the Primaloft insulation in the Compressor Vest does get damp it will still provide effective insulation, unlike down which is rendered ineffective when wet.

The Compressor Vest can be quickly put on over existing clothes (such as a windshirt) to quickly and efficiently deal with a reduction in body temperature when you stop for a break.
