The Montane Minimus finally delivers something that we have been aspiring to from the very beginning of Hike-Lite; a fully waterproof jacket with taped seams, that is truly lighweight, windproof and reasonably breathable. Products have come along that came close but they often failed on poor breathability. So we have Pertex to thank for developing Pertex Shield. The fabric used in the Montane Minimus jacket has breathability of 25,000 MVTR which puts it in the serious league of fabric breathabliity. Combined with an impressive 20,000mm hydrostatic head end up with the lighweight enthusiasts dream.
The weight is only 200gm and whilst it does not have the full set of features of a high end mountain jacket the Montane Minimus jacket achieves a sensible compromise with a competetent hood, water resistant zip, a large single chest pocket and practical cuff adjusters.

- As with all Montane clothing Pertex fabric contains a Durable Water Repellancy (DWR) as the first barrier to keeping you dry. Clean your garment in order to maintain this.
- Machine wash in warm water at 40C/104F using mild soap flakes.
- DO NOT use fabric softeners or bleach. Never tumble dry, iron or dry clean.
- After washing rinse well in cold water and if necessary tumble dry on cool setting.
