The Montane Evolution Jacket is a bold move from Montane. It replaces the Superfly Jacket which has been a stalwart of Montane ranges for many years. It takes courage to end the life of such a successful product. But whilst the Superfly went through various stages of development through its life, the new Montane Evolution Jacket is a completely new design.
Those of you who know the Superfly well will imediately see that the Evolution Jacket has adopted some quite different design features:
The hood is new for Montane and uses a completely different style of draw cord. It is helmet compatible and moves better as your head moves from side to side.
The main zip no longer has an external flap. This is now inside the jacket and sits behind a water resistant zip.
Overall the jacket has cleaner lines and presents a more modern look
Combining two different eVent® fabrics to trim unnecessary weight and featuring a helmet hood, mesh ventilated pockets and an exposed, water-resistant main zip, the Montane Evolution Jacket is clearly a fully functional piece of kit.
